Wheels Off Road

i want to make my 1993 jeep cherokee a sick off roading vehicle but also be able to drive ON the road?

i have a 4 door 1993 jeep cherokee v6 4.0 with a manual transmission. i am planning on changing it to look alot cooler and be able to drive off road(lift kit, wheels and tires, etc.) while also being able to still drive on the road. so my question is what should i do to the engine to make it match the offroad look but still be able to drive street legal.

  1. I would keep it really simple since you are going for dual purpose.I would only go with a 2in lift because the new tires will take you up as well. I would make the lift a body lift so the suspension would keep its original feel and put less stress on your chassis. Leave the engine alone except for a K&N air filter, it'll give you a little extra horsepower. Also enlarging your muffler will give your engine better breathing for some additional horsepower. You will look good and have great handling on and off road without breaking parts or your wallet.
  2. Header's&N air filter will do...When it comes to extreme wheeling you really don,t need alot of power...Be ready to spend alot of money....Wheels and tires are about 1600.00 bucks...Lift will cost you about 3000.00.Interior full cage roll bar will cost you about 1200.00.Then you will need gears...Add another 1200 to 1500 for gears and lockers....How about transfer case gears...You need the major gear reduction in the transfer case so you can drive it on the street....I,d suggest an atlas case...There,s another 2200.00...It,s really easy to spend long dough on building up a truck...I,ve had my 72 landcruiser for 15 years...I probably have over 50,000 invested over the years...Still it,s worth it!!!!!
