Can distortion be a problem with alloy wheels?

Can distortion be a problem with some cheap alloy wheels?

1. Yes alloys are relatively soft and don't take too kindly to being driven up kerbs and stuff
2. Not really. Alloy rims are pretty brittle, and will usually break, before they bend. Unless you are racing, and getting them really hot with brake heat, you'll have nothing to stress about. Good luck.
