Wheels Off Road

Looking for a mountain bike wheel conversion from on/off road to railroad tracks.?

I was told there is a conversion kit available in europe, but can't find it or anything else on the net.

  1. So you want wheels that will roll on railroad tracks for a bike???? And I thought I heard everything.
  2. It would be illegal to use anyway.
  3. That's rich...
  4. Let me know if you find it. That would be a good one to see. If it exists, I'm sure the guy that invented it had a tough time getting it past the product safety lawyers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hMh0wDRg6M&feature=related
  5. just take the tires off the wheels. they look like they can fit on to the tracks.
  6. Out of curiousity....what would you do if there's a train coming? ....whoever invented that seriously forgot to think about possible design flaws.
  7. Sounds like fun. A buddy of mine in high school used to just lower the air pressure in his car tires and ride the rails all the time (I never went along, bummer for me)
  8. The tracks are the property of the train companies and are illegal to use. Getting to/ from the railroad tracks could be a problem.
  9. Search for railcycle. You need to find abandoned tracks though, railroad tracks are private property. I know, I take photographs of trains all of the time. I get hassled occationally, but as long as I stay off of the trcks, I'm usually okay.
