Wheels Off Road

While these wheels fit?

Okay, so I'm soon to be buying a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, and I plan to put on a set of "Anthracite"-Colored Enkei OR52's which are sized as 18"x7.5" wheels, and "superbuytires.com" suggested my tire size as 225/40x18. Would this setup fit in my car? Also, I'll be putting a new suspension on this particular car that lowers the car by about 1.75 inches, if that helps in answering my question.

  1. Up until you said you are planning to "lower" the car, the tire/wheel combination MIGHT have fit...now I'll just say NO!!!
  2. Will it fit? It should but you never know for sure until you try. Always test fit one wheel and tire on the front and rear for clearance checks before mounting up all four. Its just SOP when doing a wheel upgrade. As for the tires, you can use a either a 225/40R18 88 (standard load) or a 225/40R18 92 (extra load) tire with a speed rating V or above at 33 psi front, 32 psi rear, which is sightly higher than the factory recommended tire pressures due to the lower load carrying capacity of the larger tire.
