Wheels Off Road

Off Road Wheels And Tires Knowledge Base

Using bigger tires and wheels but the struts are in the way. (Off road car) Any ideas? I am planning on converting a 91 Dodge Colt in to a sort of semi sand car to off road in the desert around my area. The original wheels were 13s which I replaced with 15s. The next step was going to be getting larger off road tires for the new 15 x 8 rims. Like a fool I never really thought about the struts being in the way (Fenders are not a problem since I am removing them). Right now with lower profile street tires on the rims I have about an inch of clearance between the strut and tire and fitting larger tires on is not going to be possible. Do you have any advice? Would it be possible to swap out the struts for longer struts off of a different model car? A conversion to a different suspension type? (The struts on there probably wont hold up to too much of a beating anyways.) Car details (Dodge Colt, 1.5 Litre, Front wheel drive, 4 speed manual tranny.)

what are the best tires and wheels for off-raoding? What tires and wheels would be best for going off-road, in the mud, and still work for the day to day streets? I'm looking for something with a 5-lug pattern to go on my 97 Grand Cherokee. If you could find something not too expoensive, under $500, that would be great. And maybe in Portland, OR so I dont have to drive too far or pay for shipping. Craigslist would be awesome of you found something there. Thanks alot to whoever helps!
What are the best off road tires for my 2003 Ford F-250? Hi I own a 2003 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel and I was just wondering if anyone knew some affordable off road tires to put on it? I also want to buy some new wheels too in the near future. Thanks *Oh and it is navy blue in color and I want to use the tires for daily transportation to and from work, the store, hunting, etc.
What are the best off-road tires (and accessories) for 99 QX4? I recently bought a 99 Infiniti QX4. The tires still have some life left on them, but I'm already starting to look for new ones. I LOVE to off-road - mud, snow, even some lighter rock crawling are all good by me. What would you recommend for my new tire purchase (if there's a good tire that'll fit the stock wheels, I'd look at that first, if not, then what wheel/tire combo)? Also, would you recommend any other must-have accessories? Skid plates, lockers? What kind? Where can I get them? I am only looking for these upgrades to cost under $2,000, hopefully less, so no fancy stuff, please. Thanks for your help! Hmmm, thanks Rick, but not super helpful. I don't plan on buying everything right now, I just don't plan on spending over $2,000 right now. I know there are tires available for original wheels, that can tackle at least moderate off-roading. I also know that I can fit larger wheels/tires on there without a lift kit.

OFF road tires on 2WD expedition? Hi!! My question is: a drive a 1999 ford expedition, I switched the original tires for 20 inch rims, on 45's tires, which is the "street" look for that type of wheel, The thing is that now I like the "OFF-ROAD" look, type of wheels, I know that my suv is NOT a 4x4 truck and is NOT lifted, but the reality is that I just like the look, and that I wouldn't use my truck to go out climbing hills, or to the rocks. so, can I use those type of tires? mainly for city drive, can I use my 20's (rims) on that type or tires? and if not what would be the regular off-road size for this kind of trucks, also I dont have plans to lift it, if not needed...............
i want to make my 1993 jeep cherokee a sick off roading vehicle but also be able to drive ON the road? i have a 4 door 1993 jeep cherokee v6 4.0 with a manual transmission. i am planning on changing it to look alot cooler and be able to drive off road(lift kit, wheels and tires, etc.) while also being able to still drive on the road. so my question is what should i do to the engine to make it match the offroad look but still be able to drive street legal.

I have an '06 Nissan Titan and I am looking at the new GMC for better gas mileage, better paint and overall long-term reliability. I have added step bars, 20" crome wheels and off road tires and obviously the tool box. Thanks!!
Is it "safe" or possible to off road in a rear wheel drive vehicle? I have a '94 Ford Ranger with Firestone Destination A/T tires, rear wheel drive, and I just wanted to know if I could actually go off roading in it. Off Road enthusiasts: Any Sugestions on tire pressure for Remington Mud Brute 305/70 R17? I upgraded from the stock 275/60 R17 Goodrich Long Trail to these off road tires on an '00 Expedition Eddie Bauer. The truck stands 2" taller than before, I had to insert some spreaders on the front springs so the tires wouldn't hit the wheel well. I mainly use the truck on highway but it feels not as agile, and ride is a litle rougher. Any suggestions. Will tire pressure make any difference
Are thin bicycle road tires suitable for the city? I just bought a second-hand road bicycle to commute around town. It has a lightweight frame, mudguards, luggage carrier, normal handlebars (not drop handlebars), and I guess it is not a racing bike. But the tires are very thin. The Question is: how good are these thin tires suited for the city? I'm not doing any off-road riding. The town where I live has a very good infrastructure for riding bikes (i.e. separate lanes, lowered curbs...), but there are still some bumps, different pavements and tram rails and such. I heard that thin wheels are not suitable for riding on rough terrain, because bumps bend them. Is that correct? How rough is "rough" in that case? Are the city pavements rough? (I realized that thing about the tires late, but I can still return the bike) P.S.: If needed, I can measure the width of the tires/rim.

is it reccommended to get new tires for all 4 wheels of the car or to change only the worn off tires? Hi, I just purchased a preowned toyota avalon. The tires in the front are kind of worn out in the sense tht the treads on the outside are completely gone whereas the rear tires seem fine as far as the treads are concerned. The car also scids on wet roads and rain. I was thinking of replacing the front tires with new ones. However, i am now in double minds whether to get new tires for only the front ones or even chnage the rear ones. does any one have any advice on this? what is usually reccommended?
What was the name of the F250 built by Ford for use by the government for off-road patrol? I heard of this truck on TV. It was lifted from the factory, with heavy-duty tires and wheels. It was built for the government for border patrol, I think. Does anyone know the name of it?

Why my Volvo XC70 rear wheels not spining at all in off road? I noticed there is no movement at all from the rear wheels when it comes to off road road such as slippery uphill. The only wheels moved were the front one???? The front tyres get worn out much more quicker than the rear. Also, today I got stuck reversing on a slope, and got help from a someone's car with a rope. Overall, do you think my AWD system is not working? Please explain. Thanks In response to Rudy H. Indeed I noticed the little triangle sign and it looks like a slippery road sign.
Lift and Wheels/Tires for a 2000 tacoma 4x4 V6 3.4L? I'm thinking of 33x12.50 tires on a 15x8 wheels. Is a 3 inch lift enough? What kind of lift kit and where can I get it online? I'm just going for the looks and won't be using the truck to go off road. Thanks.

Why do the rich cry poverty? I drove around Rancho Mirage CA. yesterday. The wealth is staggering. Then I got on I-10 east. $100K motor-homes and RVs, SUVs,towing OHVs. I pulled my 3 cyl. Metro (50mpg) into a huge gas stop. I saw people in jacked up , one ton 4X4 diesel P/Us fueling up. Not work trucks but ones with shiny chrome wheels and off road tires. Why all this talk about America going bankrupt when a few more % tax would fix it?
Is the Specialized Hardrock Sport a rugid bike that is good for road and off road use? It is the $360 Hardrock Sport WITHOUT disk breaks. Road Bike, Mountain Bike or Both? Hi, Im looking at spending about £600 on a bike or bikes, and at present im thinking that I will spend £300 on a MTB, which should get me a fairly good hardtail / front suspension bike and £300 on a road bike, which will get me a cheap faily heavy one! Im planning on selling my motorbike in Spring and want something that is fun, but I can also get fit on at the same time. My mate has a nice MTB that cost £1500!! which is way to much for me, but ive recently borrowed a MTB from another mate to try out for a few weeks. Its fun, seat is hard and the duel suspension feels funny, I dont like the squating on the road, but its good, I havent tried it on a long road run or offroad yet, hopefully this week. What im wondering is, I like the 'Tour de France' Road Race bike, I could see myself having fun going those speeds, and they look really nice, but I also like to go off road, and some MTB's look really nice to. (Looks are part of it for me) Can I get away with a good MTB with spare road wheels, or is it best to buy both MTB and Road, use them for what they are designed to do? I want the speed on roads, but also the offroad fun, not in the same journey though. This question may help, is a £300 Road bike quicker and easier to ride on hills and flats than a £600 hardtail MTB with road tires (poss slicks??). Any advise guys..... Some great answers there, thanks for all your replies. The MTB would be used for average smoothish trails, plenty of mud and little hills, but not your hard core jumps and bumpy downhill offroad trails, im in Suffolk which is flat with no where to ride hardcore, where as there are loads of roads! 2 points took my interest, a Cyclocross with a road bias, or a 2nd set of wheels with slicks and revised cassette for road use. I will do more research, but at the end of the day, a test on a road bike would help alot!! Thanks again guys.....
ATV question but no category? I had to put this under motorcycles as it is as close as I can find for the right category. I have a Polaris 1990 350 2x2 4 wheeler. I want to get rims to fit street tires. Many around here are doing this for getting around this small town as it is much less expensive to drive than my diesel pickup. I have asked around localy and seems it is easy to fit Yamaha and Honda but not so with Polaris. Anybody know where to get wheels that interchange. Or what wheels would interchange and fit small car tires? Les Swaab ( NO LUCK THERE ) is our only tire dealer in this small town and no junkyards to pick thru either. 4 wheelers are street legal here in Montana if you have a mirror and install brake lights. It is kind of fun buzzing to the store or whatever without cranking up a 1 ton truck to drive a couple miles. I do not want to get rid of my off road tires and wheels as there a blast in the woods. Thanks and hope you can help or steer me in the right direction. ATVs in Montana have 2 licences. One for off road and a legal licence plate for road legal. I have a legal Montana license plate that is good anywhere a car or motorcycle can go. You do need a M/C endorsement on your drivers license. Joe B is misunderstood.
I have a set of rockwell axels and need new wheels for them.? The ones that I have are two piece and need one piece so I can run a tubless tires. I also need to find some 44 inch off road tires or used military tires.
what is the best off road 4x4 to modify? I am after a good 4x4 to go off roading in, I mean serious off roading making my own trails etc, when i mean modify im talking about a 6-8 inch lift 37inch plus tyres. I was originally thinking about a land rover discovery but some people say Toyota land cruiser jeep etc.Is a v8 a must for extra power. I don’t want a pick up because I have large dogs and enjoy camping etc P.s what is the legal limit for tyre/wheels size for driving on the road, it will not be used as a daily drive but will be used the odd day as I just moved to the country. Cheers in advance
How effective would a 2007 Ford Ranger 2wd w/ LSD handle in Off-road driving? I found this awesome 2007 Ford Ranger Sport. it's a 2 wheel drive with a Limited Slip differential. 5-speed with a 3.0 L V6. how effective are 2wd's with limited Slip differential handle on off-road and off-highway driving? These are already equipped with All-Terrain Tires.
It snowed today .While driving my friend sleed off the road. The front tire hit the pavement.? We drove his car and its making a vibrating noise. The steering wheel is moving left to right without steering. The tire is wobling . Whats wrong with the car and whats the repair cost to fix it?
Creating a truck from a van = senior project? Thinking about buying an E-250 and taking part of the roof off and turning it into a pickup. Right now it's configured to cargo, so I want to cut it right behind the rear windows turning the rest into a truck bed and adding a reclining seat to the rear cabin part. Or maybe moving the double doors to the rear of the new cabin and putting two captain's chairs. Something like that. Also lifting the van a few inches and adding bigger wheels and off-road tires. I'm wondering if this is a feasible idea and would be an effective way to learn trade skills like basic engineering, welding, and mechanics; and if it would be something that I could do without running into a ton of problems. I'm pretty sure the most electrical I could run into would be wires from a controller to the rear lights, and the inside's just open frame and sheet metal, but I could be wrong. Anyways, just wondering what everyone things. In response to buying a flatbed, that would require me buying materials for the bed, plus a flatbed would have less room in the van, and the bed would be too high. Part of the van idea would be that even after the lift, by design, the bed would be lower to the ground. I could carry things like the scissor lift I'm looking at or a lawnmower without having an extremely long and heavy duty ramp.
I hate driving in the snow and ice......how do i deal with this....? It doesn't snow very often where I live but when it does there is usually a lot of ice....i drive a Nissan Frontier pickup that's not four wheel drive with off road tires that do not really provide a lot of traction in the ice....i am very careful about accelerating and turning...but when I brake the wheels usually lock up and I slide no matter how little presure I apply on the brake pedal.....
If I buy a second set of wheels, will I need to adjust the derailleur? I have a 24 spd mountain bike with Shimano Deore rear derailleur. I have been switching out between road tires and off road tires depending on where I am going to ride, but this gets old because I am doing it at least once every 2 weeks, sometime multiple times a week. I want to buy another wheel set so I can just swap the wheels. So can I just buy the wheels and an 8 spd cassette and not have to worry about adjusting the derailleur each time or will it not line up correctly?
What is the best tire for a Ford Explorer 4 wheel drive size 235/75/15? Im looking for new tires for a 96 Ford Explorer 4x4. Size 235/75/15. Don't really need off road tires. Mostly city and highway and occasional camping, but no towing. It currently has Goodyear Wrangler Radials.
off road skateboard wheels 4x4? I want to get my 19 yr old son a skateboard for Christmas, but need a little help. He wants a board with the off road wheels. I have found some on ebay for a FORTUNE, but am looking for something a little cheaper. Can anyone give me a heads up on the size, actual name of the wheels, etc. His exact words were, "You can get a plain skateboard from Wal-Mart, I just want the off-road tires on it." He likes to do tricks, etc. Please help!!!!
All terrain/off road tires that will fit on a 13/14 inch wheel? Don't worry about the sizing, i just need examples of off road tires for a 13/14 inch wheel.
looking to buy nissan xterra. should i get 2004 or 2005+ (off roading)? ok guys im fairly new to xterra's and the whole off roading scene in general. i am looking to buy a xterra in a couple of months when i get back from army bmt. i want a v6 4x4 and planning to take it off road. nothing to rough just some good beginner trails and hills, but i do want it to be capable of a little bit more. i will be planning on putting a 3in susp lift and some off road tires and wheels. i just had a couple of questions: i love the way the 04's and below look. but i hate how the 05's + are so bulky. i know they have some interior difference and obviously some hp difference. i was just wondering if the 04's are good for the stuff i want to do with it mentioned above? im just looking to have fun in it. so is the 04 model good for me ? because id rather not get an 05 model and up
Has anyone ever seen, or tried to mount Military MDV tires on a modern Jeep Wrangler? I was wondering how that would work. I know if you could find the wheels to mate with the military wheels, you would also have to have spacers. I think it would look cool. Would still be great off-road tires for a Jeep, but it would probably slow you down on the highway. I am also wondering if it would buy you any extra mpg? I am sorry, said that wrong, NDT's.
2008 Ford Explorer Off Road? I have a 2008 Ford Explorer XLT 2 wheel drive with a V6. I would like to do some off roading in it (I know it is not a 4X4 so nothing serious). It has stock tires 17'' wheels. Not great but not horrible ground clearance. I was wondering what I could do to make it better suited for some off road like trails and stuff. An example would be Tires, Lift, Lockers, etc...But I do not want to put too much money into it. Just things that would assist me going through easy off roading. Thanks.
What's causing the whining noise coming from the driver's side rear wheel of my '98 Jetta? There's a whining noise coming from the driver's side rear wheel of my '98 VW Jetta. The sound is like that of a truck with off-road tires driving down a paved road. The tire has been replaced within the last 6 months and hasn't lost any air. I seem to recall that my mechanic tightened something in the axel about a 18 months ago, but I'm not sure what it was. He said that it's a common thing to wear out on VW's. Please let me know what the problem is and if it's worth fixing or if it's time to move on to another car. Thanks for your help.
Truck trade in? Hi, I currently have an 04 Nissan Titan King Cab, its got a billet grill, over size off road tires and premium wheels, 3in lift, gas mileage is not bad, I was thinking about trading it for an 07 Chevy Avalanche with the flex fuel option and more or less the same features as my Titan. What are your suggestions? If you currently own an 07 Avalanche what do you think about it, would it be worth it for me to trade my truck in for this one? Thank you.
How popular is 4-wheeling in Europe? I know that in the US, 4-wheeling is a major recreational sport. Every day I see plenty of cars with 35 inch off-road tires. Europe doesn't have too many SUV's or trucks by the looks of it.
can you use a 2WD truck, for off roading, or do you need a four wheel drive? i have a 95 gmc sonoma 2wd and am looking to trade it for a 4x4, but do i really need to do that? would it be just as good to keep my truck and put off road tires and an off road suspension on it? i live in florida, so i go to Ocala NF and its not that bad there (the terrain) i'm not going to be doing all that rock climbing type of stuff, or driving fast, where i would go, ocala, is just alot of hills, some uneven terrain, some mud, and soft sand. the other day i got stuck in some soft sand on an incline and i had my 2wd w/ street tires and wanted to know if that was the main reason for getting stuck, the tires? hopefully someone who's been to ocala can answer.

GMC question. 2007 Sierra Crewcab 4x4 What changes if you change the original wheels with larger wheels.? GMC 20 inch wheels with 275/55SR20 Goodyear Eagle LS-2 tires transfered from 2007 Sierra 1500 Crewcab 4x4 with SLT trailering package with 3.73 rear end, to a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 crewcab 4x4 with Max trailering package that had 17 inch wheels with Bridgestone Dueler A/T on off road P265/70SR17 tires on it. These tires are original factory installed equipment on respective trucks. Are there suspension differiences which would not allow the swap ? Will it change the towing capacity ? Can the on board computer be programed for the wheel swap ? The GMC answer is generic and noncommital.
can i get a 32 or 31in tire for a 17in rim? for a all terrain or on and off road tire. just wanna know before i buy the wheels.
Best tires for 2 wheel pickup for offroad?? Tundra in the grass :)? Don't slam me for keeping my 2 wheel drive... I like it! I don't want to buy a 4 wheel drive - just want advice on improving my 2-wheeler's traction!! Once in a while (rare) I like hitting the woods-dirt, mud, grass, and if I get realistic answers that encourage me - the beach... I do it anyway carefully, but I don't want to have to worry so much... I have a 2006 Tundra that can't get itself up a 5% incline on wet grass (BAD... ;) Any suggestions on tire models/tread patterns and/or weight in the bed that would help it? any other REASONABLE thoughts...? Don't want to spend a lot for modifications... just want better traction off road. Also, not afraid to change the tires/wheels for those fun days out! Chains are an option to have for emergencies etc, but not for FUN DRIVING! I do my own vehicle work and will research this answer, but any more detail on "You could also install a locker/limited slip in the rear axle to help even more" would entail in modifcation time and cost?? Thanks So FAR - great answers!! Popeye says he rarely switches to 4-wheel drive! If I can get the posi installed and decent treads - do I have hope for getting this thing ON THE BEACH - I know the soft DEEP sand will be a challenge, but ONCE I am out there - should I be somewhat good to go in the dry but harder sand closer to the water? Talking NC outerbanks here.. but all beaches are about the same ;) Is there any real advantage in going from a 16 to 17" rim/tire? And/or increasing the width?
I want a second set of wheels for my road bike? I do 13 miles, each way, a day for training during the week. I commute to work at my swim club. I swim sometimes too, while there. I'll do 30-40 miles on Saturday or Sunday, and only 6 on the off day. I use solid heavy wheels and tires for my daily ride. I want to buy a lighter set of wheels and tires for when I start to enter events. I am not trying to be lance by any means, I just want to be in shape and have fun. I also am supper competitive, so I don't want to be last either. What is a good set of wheels, 700c wheels 27 inch, 25 or skinnier tires to run for events? I am also on a budget. I know I cycle, and I need to save my money almost is a oxymoron. Can I do wheels for under 140, and tire for under 100. My total cost being under 240? Please let me know some good brands and the prices of anything find even if it isn't in my range. I am talking American dollars
Good deal for S10? This is a 2001 Chevy S10 with the ZR2 package with 4 wheel drive, a/c, power everything, tinted windows, new wheels, tonnue cover, bedliner, off road tires, Blizzard plow, looks good. 110,000 miles. It need all new brake pads, rotors and calipers. The third door handle doesn't work, the seats need to be replaced, there is some slight cosmetic damage. It has a blizzard snow plow with joystick control. What do you think it is worth or would be a good price to buy it at? http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f289/MkLoe/DSC000011.jpg
What gear ratio will work best off road? I have a 97 TJ with the 4.0. Its got a 4 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift with 33 inch swampers. It still has the stock axles except for lockers that I installed. It is used off road only. The only time it sees pavement is between the trailer and the garage. I'm wondering how low I can go with the gears before I have to worry about snapping the pinion. What would work best for off road? I like to do some pretty nasty trails but also like to just put it in gear and putts down the easy trails. I still want to be able to get wheel speed for cleaning out the tires in the mud tho. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.
2 BRAND NEW tires put on my car..that day..the back wheel FELL OFF at 70mph!! What should I do next? Here's the scoop, I was in basically an emergency situation, I had to get 2 new tires on my car and I had to get them that day. I was going on a long trip to help my family move out of the house that got foreclosed (unfortunately). Time was of the essence...I went to a "certain" tire place and received two brand new tires to replace my used ones up front, they rotated them to the back. about 200 miles down the road (that same day) One of the back brand new tires fell off the car, yes FELL OFF. Thank God it was 2a.m. and not that many cars on the highway, I saved it from slamming into the median wall and then slid across 4 lanes of highway traffic. I was late getting to my Uhaul appt., the rental car they approved took 2hrs. to go through and they shipped my car back up to the dealership because they could not repair the major damage. I just want some serious advice on what my next steps should be?? I am luck to be alive. NOTE: I own a 2002 Infiniti Qx4.
any1 running 19.5 wheels on their dually?which ones?how are they? which tires?how do they ride? am interested on brenztwheels.com (8 spoke model) i want a tire with nice agressive traction thread for on and off road application? any input ?oh and also i dont mind spending the money but want the most bang for my buck!
Why wouldn't my four wheel drive engage? I own a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, it's 100% stock except for a winch and better off road tires. Today I was on an old mining road in the middle of no where desert of Arizona when to my surprise I saw one of those gigantic mining dump trucks heading in my direction. The truck took up the entire road! To my right was a dirt embankment that was slopped on both sides. I drove up and over the embankment to avoid being hit by the truck. After the truck passed I tried to drive back over the embankment to get back onto the road. When I did this the back tire wasn't getting any traction so I tried to put it into four-wheel drive but when I pulled on the lever to engage the four-wheel drive the lever would not move, it was stuck. I tried several times to get it to engage with no luck. I eventually was able to get back on the road in two-wheel drive. When I got back on the road I tried to engage it again and it slipped into four-wheel drive with no problems. I do a lot of off-roading and I've taken my Jeep over a lot of very tough terrain over the years and I've never had this problem. Why was it when I needed four-wheel drive it wouldn't engage and when I didn't need it I had no problems? Has this happened to anybody else? Thanks.
What's a good way to demonstrate how to stay on the road and not over correct? I'm looking for ideas for a public service announcement commercial that demonstrates what you should do when you drop a tire off the paved surface on to the shoulder. Often times when this happens people jerk the wheel to get back on the road, pressure builds up between the tire and the vertical edge of the pavement until the car finally hops back on the pavement across the road and into the ditch on the other side. How can this be demonstrated in a 60 second commercial?
Why do I sometimes find pieces of tires on the side of the road? Especially on the freeway. Sometimes I see almost the whole strip or the whole peice of the wheel on the freeway. how the hell did that fall off? I also see tons of wheels. Are people that crappy driverss?
Can i put a wider wheel on my bike mountain bike? I need a new rear wheel for my mountain but i ride off road quite a lot so i would like to fit a wider wheel/tire. They are standard 2.00 X 1.75 tyres on a 26 inch wheel rim. Is it just the tyre or does the rim need to be bigger as well ?. Will a bigger wheel fit my frame?
2002 Toyota Highlander Off Road? I have a 2002 Toyota Highlander, 2 wheel, front wheel drive. I was wondering if is possible to take this vehicle off roading? I know it's built on a sedan chasis but can I add better offroading tires and better suspension and a little lift?
Tire Tread?!? I have a '98 Chevy K1500 4x4. I have Maxxis Mudder Buckshot tires on my truck. Where I live, I can't find a store that sells Maxxis's or even off brand knock-offs. I need the two front tires changed on my truck b/c of front wheel wear. My back tires still have full tread. My question is....if I found some other kind of tire, would they still look fine with the thick Maxxis tread, or would I have to buy special off-road treaded tires to make them look descent? I found Dunlop Grandtrek's pretty cheap. Would they look weird with the Maxxis tread? Also, my tires now are 265/75 16...would it hurt to go down a size on the front to 245/75 16? Would you be able to tell a difference at looking them? Would it ride funny or pull? I know about the difference in the speedometer readings. Also, what kind of wear does the Maxxis Mudder's get? The average life of a set of those. Mine were on there when I bought the truck, so I don't know! Serious Answers Only Plz! Real advise or don't answer at all!
I cut somebody off on the highway today...? As I was merging in from the entrance ramp this morning, I decided that I wanted to get in the middle lane. I put my signal on and I looked in my mirror and I didn't see anything and then I looked back and I saw a van a behind me but it seemed like I had enough room to switch lanes. Then when I actually switched in I heard a long horn. I must have almost hit him because I looked in my mirror and the van was very close behind me. I felt really bad and then about a minute later I saw the van right next to me and the guy looked dead at me. I wanted to apologize but I didn't want to take my eye off the road too long or take my hand off the wheel. (I was very tired this morning.) He then stuck his middle finger at me and sped ahead. I kept thinking about this all morning. I wish I could apologize but I don't even know who he is or where he's from. I keep thinking that his entire day is gonna be focused on the guy who cut him off. Should I just forget about it & learn from it BTW he was looked very angry. Do you guys think that he's gonna hold a grudge on me and relate it to all his friends and never forget how he was mistreated?
disavantages of raised/soft suspension cherokee? so i want to have some fun with my 00 cherokee sport, and get some off roading tires/wheels with a soft suspension setup. how much will this run me? how differently will my car handle on normal roads/highway? will i need a new tranny since the wheels will be so much bigger and heavier?
Motorcycle engine on go -kart? I am planning to build a go kart over the next 1-2 months, Its not really a go kart,What me and my uncle planned is that it would be a long frame(9 feet at most) with maruti 800 tires or any off road tires we can find, and it will have a motorcycle engine chain drive linked to the rear wheels, does anybody know if this will work? will motorcycle engines work on a go kart? If so, where can i buy the brakes, what can i use? Where can i find disk brakes or drum brakes for such a small size? And can somebody also tell me how much maybe say, and old scooter's engine cost, we were planning 3.5 hp, my uncle says it will be 3,000 - 5000 Rupee I used to live in teh U.S. my whole life but i will be living in india for the next 2 years, so yeah, Rupee is the indian currency.
Any problems reported with the Hankook DynaPro AS P235/75R15 Tires and Ford Explorer? On a trip to Las Vegas from LA the back end of my car felt like it had a steering wheel of it's own. Felt as if right side of the car was about to come off the road. Only seemed to happen when I was going 60 to 70 but made handeling very difficult. Took it to Meneke in Vegas and everything checked out fine but they mentioned these tires seemed kind of soft for an SUV. Consumer reports rate them high but am wondering if anyone has had a similar problem.
How big of a tire can I put on an 06 Ford F150? I have a 17 inch rim and need new tires. I like the 17 inch width, but want to go bigger in height. I heard of people doing 31's, but that they rub on hard turns. Keep in mind this is stock without a lift (truck is high enough without the lift. Need some advice from the experts cause I don't have a clue about tires. I do a lot of off road with the truck for hunting (nothing extreme) and I like the look of bigger wheels on the truck. Thoughts?

How much of a diff. does the bike make? I've been reading here that the average biker can do something like 15 mph (24km/h) no problem for distances over 15 miles... Now I look at that and go "holy jeez..." 'cause I seem to only manage 13.7 mph (22 km/h) for any distance over 15 miles. To some that's not a big of a difference, but I can't make the cut to "average." I ride a piece of crap mountain bike (was 400$ CAD when I got it). Dual susp. 21 speed. 40 lbs. Front tire is a stock off road tire, back is a specialized pavement/hard pack trail tire. Size: 1.95" X 26". Now, is me being sucky not being able to reach those speeds, or is it the bike? Whenever I bike with my buddies (who also have crappy bikes), I seem to scream past them on two wheels... but I'm still not even "average."
