where can i find mountain board off road wheels? hello. i have a motorized longboard and would like pneumatic wheels (tires that are inflatable). the axle diameter is 3/8 inches. anyone have good site with a bunch of wheels like this? i've checked out like mcmastercarr and stuff and can't find a good wheel. the only one's i've found are like $25 each. thanks.

Big Off-Road Bike Wheels? We need 2 strong heavy duty bike wheels for our project, the bigger the better. I've searched through a few different websites and it a bit complicated on what goes with what etc. Right now were looking at these Shimano Deore 29er wheels with Kenda Tomac Nevegal 29 x 2.2 tires. We pretty much need strongest biggest off road wheels available, could someone point us in the right direction.

Using bigger tires and wheels but the struts are in the way. (Off road car) Any ideas? I am planning on converting a 91 Dodge Colt in to a sort of semi sand car to off road in the desert around my area. The original wheels were 13s which I replaced with 15s. The next step was going to be getting larger off road tires for the new 15 x 8 rims. Like a fool I never really thought about the struts being in the way (Fenders are not a problem since I am removing them). Right now with lower profile street tires on the rims I have about an inch of clearance between the strut and tire and fitting larger tires on is not going to be possible. Do you have any advice? Would it be possible to swap out the struts for longer struts off of a different model car? A conversion to a different suspension type? (The struts on there probably wont hold up to too much of a beating anyways.) Car details (Dodge Colt, 1.5 Litre, Front wheel drive, 4 speed manual tranny.)

For a large 4 wheel drive off road application truck, is it better to have drum or disk brakes? Just trying to decide if I should change over to a disk setup. I know that big industrial trucks such as dump trucks and buses use drum brakes.....and I know that most race cars use disk....for cooling purposes....but the new tundra just came out with 4 wheel disk brakes. Are 4x4 Tacomas with diff locks nearly as good as Jeep Rubicons off road? For most off-road situations? Assuming both are 100% stock and not lifted or built up. I've heard that Rubis are better because they have shorter wheelbase and better approach/departure angles, but then I have also heard that Tacomas have way lower center of gravity and aren't as likely to roll or end-o. How are Subaru's for mild to medium off road? I'm thinking of getting a B9 Tribeca. 99% of the time for on-road driving, but a couple times a month I need to get up a not too tough rocky road. Has anyone else seen women drive on the road with NO hands on the wheel to fix their hair? Today, I saw a woman that I am guessing was in her middle 20's driving in the left lane of a 40 mph speed limit two lane road going 50mph with BOTH hands off the wheel while she was doing her hair. In astonishment I passed her and I looked in my rear view mirror and she was on a cellphone. I am not sure if she was on the cellphone while she had both hands tending to her hair but I certainly would not rule that out. what can i do to prevent wheel hop off road? I just got an '88 toyota pickup 4x4 efi 22re. it has a shackle lift in the rear and drop down kit with independent front suspension. Well my problem is that when im in 2wd in the sand the rear axle hops really bad. i have 32x11.50 mudders and a locking differential. the shocks in the back are monroe brand and are still good. what can i do to prevent this. i was told to air down but the problem persisted even at 10 psi. do i need new springs? or helper springs? any help would be appreciated

This question can't be answered with just a brand name, but rather a scenerio described, plus the name of a wheelset that matches with that scenerio. . . Even if you choose one I don't like, I'll certainly vote for you if you match it up with its best possible use. No fair mentioning mine unless you can specifically state where and when it is the most helpful. The advertisements are off-line right now, so there's no way to look up the answer. ;) I'd much rather you talk about what you use your favorite wheels for (Race, Club, Triathlon, or Tour), on what quality of roads, with hills (or not!), with what rider weight--and then mention the brand and model of your favored wheels for this. Thank you!! Remember: Best purpose + Wheels to answer. Comment: Interesting! Shimano WH-7701 requires thin tubular tires to overcome design error of rim-centric weight and also overcome the overstrung front wheel's slower reaction to chip-n-seal. This works for its listed purpose of racing; however, wheels of lighter weight, half the price, not overstrung on the front, and exact same rim size exist--with no requirement of fragile tires. This first answer is functional, but I'd like to hear something better. Comments: Second answer was to have your wheels built to fit your body. Great so far! But then. . . to use the same wheels for both Triathlon and club rides. . .is mighty unpleasant because the ideal wheel types are opposites. Comments: Third answer was Neuvation SL28 for both race and club. This is application-specific for that purpose and a great answer. It sounds like it is the old model Reynolds 28 rim instead of the lighter 27, and the 28 does take a bit faster tire to really fly. Fly, it does! He also mentioned upgrading tires. Bravo! Serfas SECA RS plus a "Michelin Feather" tube in the front, with something entirely different (all black tread) on the back, could be a good place to start. Also, Bravo! for selecting a front wheel that's properly built for speed (cruise easily over bumps) no matter the road condition. But, again, lets hear about wheels that aren't rim centric in their weight balance so you don't have to worry so much with your tires. Comments: Fourth answer Velomax Tempest 2, carbon AND alloy versions come very close to perfect, but undershot in the rear wheel tension, causing flex in the drivetrain for even the lightest rider. Zipp 808 has such a high rim weight that it cannot be compensated by even the lightest tire. These have a very specific use, and are limited to that. Velomax may be the fastest wheels listed here, but lets hear about something with less power-wasting flex in the drivetrain. Remember, any wheel can win if you name its best use. Right now you're competing with the guy who named Neuvation's round spoke model and what they do best--the only accurate answer so far. There is a wheel way down at $180 for the set that could win this question if you name the one thing it does better than the others. The year's most popular wheelsmith also has something new, one of which could win the question (and anything else) quite easily. . . Also in this foul design, are aluminum spokes to make up for excessively weighty Mavic rims, resulting in a climber set that's still overweight where it counts. Comments: On the addition to question 5: Carbon whammies are not required, only a wheelset most excellent for the job you describe for it will do. Price has no merit. Try excellence in application instead. Neuvation still in the lead on their outdated design? Yes. Its good. And, they are. Better is out there, one that costs more and one that costs less. Maybe even more. Can you find them? The two things mentioned that would be fast no matter what. . .are: Front wheels from the VeloMax Tempest series--fastest on earth. Unfortunately, that rear wheel flexes power away on hill climbs, so. . . Fastest wheelset mentioned here: Neuvation R 28, which have no problem keeping up with the best (above) despite a bit more weight because this series is excellent front and back. No other set mentioned had a fast front wheel. Just those 2 above. Other contenders would have been Rol de-Huez with a bit less rim and a bit more spoke than Neuvation for more speed (because, less rim-centric in weight). Plus the Rol adds the strength for triathlon while still outperforming most road wheels. And, a surprise: Performance Forte Gemini (usually $175) for club rides because of its hub-centric weight allowing you to use any tires and still go very fast up hills. With faster extra bearings causing the majority of the weight, this could have won the question.

I want to put smaller rimed wheels to lower the height. What 15 inch wheels stud pattern should I be looking? eg:Toyota, Nissan, Hilux, Pajero ????

got a 2005 xterra " off road" what does that mean? my brother pass it to me . just want to know what it means? " off road" what can i do or can not do with this kind of car. is it safe to drive when snowing? is a 2 wheel drive . went and buy chains anyway but the store say i do not need chain for that kind of car and some people says i do need chains.

2008 Ford Explorer Off Road? I have a 2008 Ford Explorer XLT 2 wheel drive with a V6. I would like to do some off roading in it (I know it is not a 4X4 so nothing serious). It has stock tires 17'' wheels. Not great but not horrible ground clearance. I was wondering what I could do to make it better suited for some off road like trails and stuff. An example would be Tires, Lift, Lockers, etc...But I do not want to put too much money into it. Just things that would assist me going through easy off roading. Thanks.

Should 4 wheel drive "off roaders" have a produciton quota per year to limit their numbers on the road? It occurs to me that they're not only dangerous to the envionment but also to pedestrians. Is it really necessary to drive around in a 2 ton vehicle just to take the kids to school and then burn up more petrol than is forgivable when there is onlhy the driver bumming it along the motorway?
